As Hicksons’ COO, Colleen Weiler leads the delivery of the firm’s strategy for all business operations, including finance, IT, business development, marketing, office services and people and culture. She also leads the firm’s transformation initiatives to strengthen business performance, growth and sustainability through efficient business models and frameworks.
Colleen advocates a people-first culture, creating an environment where people can thrive personally and professionally and realise their potential. She champions diversity, inclusion and equity, giving voice to all levels of the organisation.
Colleen was also a finalist in Lawyers Weekly’s Women in Law for 2020, 2021 and 2023.

Naomi Tancred is Hicksons’ Chair of Partners and a Partner within the Hicksons workers insurance team, with over 25 years of specialising in insurance law focusing on advising employers on workers compensation and employer liability claims.
Additionally, she has the expert skills to deal with stress claims, sexual harassment and catastrophic injury workers compensation claims.
Naomi has been profiled in Lawyers Weekly and recognised by Doyle Guide. She also speaks at industry events and conferences and has commented on various Lawyers Weekly articles.

Najeh Marhaba is the Partner in Charge of Hicksons’ Newcastle office and has over 15 years of experience providing practical advice and strategies for managing insurance in the workplace. A significant part of his practice is spent engaging with clients on general and claims-specific strategies in the Hunter, northern regional centres and across New South Wales.
Najeh manages a talented team of lawyers providing legal and consulting services across dispute resolution, litigation, employment matters, discrimination matters, property and immigration matters.
He has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide since 2020 and has been featured on Lawyers Weekly on his role in building the Hicksons’ Newcastle office.

In addition to his role as Managing Partner at Hicksons, Cameron Leaver leads the firm's medical negligence practice. His extensive experience, commitment and passion for the business are instrumental in driving the firm’s vision and strategy.
Appointed as Managing Partner on 1 August 2024, Cameron is leading the firm to deliver on its vision and strategy while ensuring it continues to be known for people, culture, legal excellence and innovation.
Cameron has over 40 years of experience spanning all areas of insurance law, with a more recent focus on medical negligence. He has represented clients from various industries and government, including a significant public sector experience and having advised NSW government departments and agencies on a range of matters. He brings energy, commitment and passion to providing solutions for clients.
Cameron has also been recognised by both Doyle’s Guide and Best Lawyers since 2020.

Perry Thomas is a non-executive director and chair of Risk and Capital Committee. He’s an actuary with over 30 years of experience in financial services in roles including CEO, CRO and group chief actuary. He’s held directorships in the UK, Bermuda, Ireland, India, South Africa, Malta and Luxembourg, and has been on the Council of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Thomas is dyslexic, which he believes can bring a different perspective.
