Profile
“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”

Trent Hancock is a principal and co-founder of Jewell Hancock Employment Lawyers, a full-service employment law firm acting exclusively for employees.
Hancock started his career at a boutique employment law firm in Melbourne, where he quickly progressed from paralegal to principal before establishing Jewell Hancock Employment Lawyers with his colleague Andrew Jewell in 2020.
From his very first role in the legal profession, ambition and hard work have allowed Hancock to become a leader in his field. He has been recognised as a Leading Employment Lawyer in Doyle’s Guide and won the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Employment and Workplace Relations Award in 2022.
Motivated by a desire to see employees at all levels treated fairly and equally in the workplace, Hancock uses the law to deliver meaningful and practical results for his clients, who range from apprentices to senior executives at ASX-listed companies.
Hancock prides himself not only on being a capable technical lawyer but also on fostering strong and trusting relationships. Clients have often commended his expertise, professionalism, honesty and efficiency.
Recognition as one of Australasian Lawyer’s 2023 Rising Stars is a further testament to Hancock’s already brilliant career.
