Velocity derives a substantial portion of its business through word of mouth. For instance, when the firm achieves favourable results for a client in a tax dispute matter, those clients often become enthusiastic advocates, recommending Velocity to their networks. This principle equally applies to business partner disputes, commercial disputes, share sale transactions and all of the firm’s other specialised services.
Managing director Andrew Henshaw says, “We put our people at the centre of everything we do; if they thrive, they’ll do their best work for clients, and results naturally flow.”
Of overarching importance for the firm is achieving results for clients. Velocity is geared towards achieving the desired objective.
“We advise our clients so that they have a clear understanding of their position,” adds Henshaw. “We work hard to achieve their objectives without letting anything distract us.”
Part of the firm’s energetic ethos is to offer definitive advice and deliver it in a straightforward manner.
Henshaw says, “We don’t sit on the fence when providing advice. We understand why clients hate that. We also avoid legal jargon; no one likes that either.”
Earning a reputation as one of the country’s leading boutique firms has been built on delivering consistent advice, comprehensive expertise and always supporting clients.
“We cut through the legal issues, clearly explain to the client what their options are, and guide them through the process,” says Henshaw.

Alliant’s progress is set to continue, as underlined by Zimmer, who has confidence in the firm’s people to deliver continued excellence.
“We believe in our business plan, and it has proven successful. We don’t feel the need to change that. Our core business plan will continue to drive the company forward, complemented by new opportunities that may arise in the future.”
