“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”
Kelvin Rampersad,
Carte Wealth Management
Chad Wallace joined Cooney Lees Morgan in 2015, having previously worked at a top-tier law firm in Auckland. Now a senior associate, Chad is working in the property and development team at Cooney Lees Morgan and leads a sub-team of seven staff. He and his team look after one of New Zealand’s leading nationwide residential construction companies. They handle all of their land acquisitions, house and land packages, subdivisions and financing arrangements.
Chad and his team also act for a number of private developers who undertake residential and commercial subdivisions, including unit title developments. Having a keen interest in the rural sector, he has a busy practice acting for orchardists, dairy farmers and forestry owners. This broad and varied work stream is rounded out by Chad’s niche specialty in retirement village law.
Chad’s approach to providing legal advice is to always put himself in the client’s shoes: What do they really want to achieve, and what is the best way for them to achieve it? To understand their perspective and provide the best possible service, he first seeks to understand their business, their long-term goals and the wider industry issues or challenges they might face.
